Brilliant ruby red, compound, with a soft and elegant texture. Fruity aromas, balanced with herbal notes. Interesting finish.
Pairs perfectly with medium-aged cheeses, lamb chops and roasted pheasant.
Castello di Querceto enjoys a cool growing environment in Greve in Chianti, an especially important asset in a hot vintage such as this. The 2017 Chianti Classico shows some fruity ripeness with blackberry and dark cherry, but the freshness of the Sangiovese grape kicks in to counter any residual effects of that ripe fruit. The wine is steady and easy to drink with a cheesy pasta dish.
